Support Gunner Loadout Guide

Question:

What loadout should I run as a support gunner in airsoft?

Answer:

As a support gunner, your role is to suppress enemy positions and provide covering fire for your teammates. Your loadout should reflect that responsibility with the right gear and equipment choices.

Primary Weapon: Opt for a light machine gun (LMG) platform such as the standard or a standard. These replicas accept high-capacity box magazines that can hold 1,500 to 2,500 BBs, allowing you to sustain fire without constant reloading.

BBs: Use 0.28g or 0.30g BBs for improved accuracy and range. Heavier BBs resist wind better and deliver more consistent flight paths downrange.

Battery Setup: LMGs consume power quickly, so carry at least two high-capacity LiPo batteries rated at 7.4V or 11.1V depending on your motor configuration.

Tactical Vest: Choose a chest rig or plate carrier with dedicated battery pouches and a dump pouch for empty box magazines. Staying mobile while carrying extra ammo cans is critical.

Upgrades: A quality hop-up bucking and a tightbore barrel will dramatically improve your effective range.

Sidearm: Always carry a pistol as a backup. Support gunners are vulnerable at close range when reloading their primary.

Communication: A headset is strongly recommended since your role requires constant coordination with your squad leader to identify suppression targets effectively.

Running this loadout will make you an invaluable asset on any airsoft field.
