HPA Adapters for KWA MP7 & KMP9 Builds

Can I run my KWA MP7 or KMP9 on HPA without permanent modifications, and which magazine systems are supported?

Answer:

Yes. Both the KWA MP7 and KMP9 are excellent HPA candidates because their gas systems operate at regulated pressures that translate well to external air. A drop-in HPA adapter replaces the green gas fill valve on the magazine base plate, requiring no drilling, tapping, or permanent alterations to the gun or mag. You simply remove the OEM valve, install the adapter with its included O-ring, and connect a regulated line from your tank.

The KMP9 adapter offers two distinct magazinewell options: one accepting M4/AR mags and another accepting MP5-pattern magazines. Both adapters are machined from aluminum with hardened steel feed tubes designed to withstand the high cycle rates these SMGs produce.

For the MP7, expect reliable feeding at 30–45 RPS with a quality regulator set between 100–130 PSI depending on your target FPS and BB weight. The KMP9 runs slightly lower pressure, typically 80–110 PSI. Because both guns use open-bolt designs, you must ensure your regulator has sufficient flow capacity (at least 300+ SLPM) to prevent shoot-down during sustained bursts. A standard 4500 PSI carbon fiber tank with a adjustable regulator (e.g., PolarStar, Redline, or Ninja) works well.

Maintenance is minimal: lightly lubricate the adapter O-ring with silicone grease every few games, and inspect the feed tube for burrs if you experience misfeeds. Spare O-rings, feed tubes, and M4 mag releases are available if parts wear out. The conversion is fully reversible — reinstall the green gas valve to return to propane or green gas in minutes.
