HPA Adapter M4 Mag Release Replacement

A soft or non-functional magazine release on an HPA adapter is almost always caused by a worn, bent, or missing M4 magazine release component. Inside the adapter's magwell, a small stamped metal lever engages the catch on your M4-pattern magazine. After thousands of insertions — or a few hard slams — that lever can deform, losing the crisp spring tension needed to hold the mag securely and release it cleanly.

Another common culprit is the tiny return spring that sits behind the release button. If that spring dislodges or fatigues, the button won't reset, leaving the catch partially engaged. You'll feel it as a "mushy" press with no positive click.
