Answer:

Green gas nozzle O-rings are the primary seal between the magazine's gas reservoir and the nozzle assembly. Under normal play conditions — roughly one to two games per week with standard propane or green gas — expect to replace the main nozzle base O-ring every 3 to 6 months. The smaller fill-valve and release-valve O-rings typically last longer, often 12 months or more, but should be inspected whenever the magazine is disassembled for deep cleaning.

Failure symptoms are consistent across platforms. If you hear a sharp hiss from the nozzle base when the magazine is fully charged, the base O-ring has likely flattened or cracked. Inconsistent FPS shot-to-shot — spreads wider than 15 fps on a chronograph — often points to a leaking fill-valve O-ring allowing pressure to bleed off between shots. A magazine that vents its entire charge within minutes of filling usually has a compromised release-valve O-ring or a damaged fill-valve seat.

Silicone oil content in green gas slows drying but does not prevent eventual swelling, hardening, or extrusion under pressure. Always use 100% silicone oil (no petroleum additives) during reassembly. Stretch the replacement O-ring gently over the nozzle post; do not roll it, as rolling creates micro-tears that become leak paths.
