The numbers 3000 PSI and 4500 PSI refer to the tank’s maximum fill pressure, but the real-world difference lies in volumetric efficiency. A 4500 PSI tank stores 50% more potential energy in the same physical volume compared to a 3000 PSI tank.

Capacity & Shot Count A standard 68ci (cubic inch) 4500 PSI tank holds roughly the same air volume as a 100ci+ 3000 PSI tank. For airsoft, a 45ci/4500 PSI tank typically yields 1,500–2,500+ shots per fill depending on your regulator pressure and engine efficiency. A comparable 48ci/3000 PSI tank often delivers half that count, requiring more frequent refills during long games.

Weight & Profile Modern 4500 PSI tanks use carbon fiber wrapping over an aluminum liner, making them significantly lighter than the all-aluminum 3000 PSI bottles. A 45ci/4500 PSI tank weighs ~1.8–2.2 lbs, while a 48ci/3000 PSI tank weighs ~2.5–3 lbs.
