The SSX23 (and its MK23 counterpart) uses a proprietary magazine design that requires a dedicated HPA adapter to interface with a standard air line. You cannot use a generic Hi-Capa or Glock adapter; the magazine base plate geometry and gas routing are unique to this platform. A proper SSX23/MK23 HPA adapter replaces the magazine's base plate and routes compressed air directly into the valve system, eliminating the need for green gas entirely.

Switching to HPA on this platform yields three immediate benefits.
